WHY IT MATTERS

What a credible programme protects

NEC Cl.61.3 · FIDIC Cl.20.2

Time entitlement

Compensation events run on notification discipline. A missed eight-week notification under NEC clause 61.3 can time-bar the entitlement on that event. FIDIC runs the same discipline harder: clause 20.2 gives 28 days. A controlled cycle keeps notifications, impacts and records evidenced while the entitlement is still live.

Assessment position

Where there is no Accepted Programme, the Project Manager assesses compensation events using their own assessment of the programme, not yours. Acceptance is not paperwork: it decides whose programme the money is measured against.

REPORTING & EV

Margin visibility

Change priced against a credible critical path is defensible. Change argued without one is negotiable. Disciplined reporting keeps the commercial position visible while it can still be corrected.
