FOR ENGINEERS
Move into project planning with a UK contractor
You're a qualified engineer, but right now you're not working at your level. We're helping a small number of engineers like you into permanent project planning jobs with UK contractors. We get you ready before you start and review your work through your first year, so you've got someone behind you while you learn the job.
University of Birmingham
A University of Birmingham policy report, launched in Parliament on 3 November 2026, features the model as an example of best practice.
Who can apply
You'll need a degree in engineering or construction and at least two years' work in the industry, on site or in design. You'll also need the right to work in the UK, and you should be comfortable working in English every day. You don't need any planning experience. That's the part we teach you.
The job
It's a permanent, paid job as a project planner. You work on the contractor's projects as part of their team, and you're their employee from day one. There's no charge to you at any point.
What happens after you apply
We read every application ourselves and reply within 5 working days. If your background looks like a fit, we'll ask you for your CV and a short call. After that we keep your details on file and get in touch when one of our contractors has a role that suits you. It's a small programme, so that can take a few months. We'll never put you forward for a role without asking you first.
If you're a work coach, or you're supporting someone who'd fit, send them this page.
